A staggering 72,843 fires are currently booming on Amazon, and NASA has released satellite images from space that are a reminder of how serious it is to hit the entire planet. The hashtag #PrayforAmazonia has gone viral on social media, but no prayer can help anymore. Namely, damage was done that was irreparable.
Amazon has been burning for almost three weeks now, though it took a while for the seriousness of the situation to reach people’s awareness.
